Magistrate Court is the primary court responsible for the issuance of all arrest and search warrants in Jackson County. Either the Chief Magistrate or an Associate Magistrate is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to review and sign search and arrest warrants.
Additionally, members of the public may file a warrant application with the Magistrate Court if they believe someone has committed a crime. If you wish to file a warrant application, you are required to attach a copy of a police report as proof that the incident was reported to a law enforcement agency here in Jackson County and they have chosen to take no action. Notice will be provided to the Defendant and a hearing will be held to determine if an arrest warrant should issue.
