Steve Nichols
Director of Emergency Services

Steve Nichols is the Director of Public Safety which includes the Divisions of Emergency Medical Services, E-911, Homeland Security, and the Emergency Management Agency. Steve has been with Jackson County as the Director since 2007 and has served as a volunteer Firefighter and Rescue member in Jackson County for thirty years. Steve retired from Gwinnett County after thirty-two years service in Fire and Emergency Services. Steve holds an associate’s degree in fire science and management and is currently a Master Manager through the Georgia Emergency Management Agency.

In additional duties Steve is currently serving as the Assistant Chief of the Nicholson Volunteer Fire/Rescue Department.
